If you’re an instructor creating community-based experiential learning (CBEL) opportunities for students, consider applying for funding from the Centre for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) and the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.
Faculty are invited to apply for up to $5,000 per course for the 2017/18 academic year.
CBEL opportunities provide collaborative learning experiences for both the instructor and the student. They allow students to use their academic knowledge to tackle real-world issues.
The Remote Community Based Learning Fund supports collaborations between UBC students and organizations located outside of the Lower Mainland. Through CBEL experiences in remote communities, students test their own assumptions while applying discipline-specific skills and knowledge to address complex community challenges.
