Tara Moreau and the Physical Activity Research Centre recognised at the Awards of Excellence

The City of Vancouver Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding achievements made by individuals and organizations in five categories of achievement that benefit everyone by making Vancouver more green, healthy, diverse, and accessible.

There were a number of awards that celebrated the success of members of the UBC community, including:

The Physical Activity Research Centre (PARC), a community-based research facility that is part of the Faculty of Medicine’s spinal cord injury research centre at the International Collaboration on Repair Discoveries (I-CORD), was given the Accessible City award (organization category). This award recognizes outstanding leadership to enhance accessibility, inclusion, and elimination of barriers to full participation for persons with disabilities.

Dr. Tara Moreau Associate Director, Sustainability and Community Programs in the Faculty of Science, was given the Greenest City Leadership award (individual category). This award recognizes individuals or groups who enhance or advance the City’s Greenest City Action Plan goals.
