William Cheung wins CUFA-BC’s Ehor Boyanowsky Academic of the Year Award

Dr. William Cheung has won the Confederation of University Faculty Associations of British Columbia (CUFA BC)’s Ehor Boyanowsky Academic of the Year Award. Dr. Cheung is an Associate Professor at the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries, UBC, and the Director of Science, Nippon Foundation-Nereus Program. His work cuts across multiple disciplines, from oceanography to ecology, economics and social sciences, and ranges from local to global scales.

Named after the CUFA BC president who created the Distinguished Academics Awards during his term, this award recognizes a specific and recent outstanding contribution to the community (beyond the academy) through research or other scholarly activity.
