UBC-V: Submit your Student Development Awards nominations

Do you know an individual, group, or program that’s made exceptional contributions to the student experience at UBC? Have you seen work that’s significantly impacted the learning environment and students’ ability to achieve their full potential?

If so, you’re invited to help recognize these achievements by submitting your nominations to the Office of the Vice-President, Students, for the following Student Development Awards in Vancouver:

  • Helen McCrae Award – For a service for students provided by AMS, GSS, or UBC
  • Margaret Fulton Award – For an individual
  • Alfred Scow Award – For an undergraduate program or department
  • Peter Larkin Award – For a graduate program or department


UBC-V: Are you heart healthy? Free cardiovascular risk assessments available

Do you know your current level of heart health?

Faculty and staff are invited to take part in free cardiovascular health assessments as part of the CAMMPUS program (Cardiovascular Assessment and Medication Management by Pharmacists at the UBC site) from now until May 31, 2016.

Pharmacists will help participants complete a cardiovascular risk assessment and develop a plan to maintain a healthy heart. Pharmacists will also be able to help participants set health goals and track their progress over time.

The program, offered by the Health, Wellbeing, and Benefits team in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, is covered by UBC’s extended health benefit plan and can help you make long-lasting changes to your health.

If you would like a little extra support with work, health, and life challenges, the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) is here to help.

Shepell, UBC’s EFAP provider, offers confidential and voluntary support services to help faculty and staff with challenges in all areas of work and life including stress, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, nutrition and weight loss, parenting, finances, and much more.  (more…)
